Injuries... what???... I hadn't had any injuries while running... why now?? I am still not quite sure what the heck happend...but my left foot on the outside of my foot just started hurting.... It hurt mostly when I walked..but even a little when I ran... I was thinking... I only about a month of training left before my half... what am I going to do... I had heard a lot of people telling me it could be a stress fracture.... or many other things... So, I took some days off... and iced it... and then tried to run on it again... still, it wouldn't let up!! So I decided to take an entire week off... ugh... a week!!! How can I do that and still be ready for my half... (my husband said if I didn't let it rest than it could get worse...well I didn't want that to happen!) so I laid off of it... Kept icing it... oh and my husband got me some new shoes...thinking that could possibly be the reason of the pain... not enough support in my shoes... We decided to get me the exact same shoes, just cause I didn't want to switch anything up too major before my race...
My first week back... was alright... my foot still hurt but it mostly only hurt when I walked on it... so I felt like I could keep up with my training... besides the Friday that was coming up, I had a 9 mile run, that I COULD NOT miss!! This run was so important for me mentally and physically to get it done.. The 4th of July came... and I had a running buddy get up with me at 6:00 and go for a run... She only went half of the way..but it was awesome!! The tempuratures were so cool that morning.. and it was nice to have someone to chat with while running... on the last half of that 9... I took some rests.. and my foot was KILLING ME!!! but I didn't quit!! Got it done!! and then I got to rest for the weekend...
Slowly my foot started feeling better... I got my new shoes earlier this week, and have been breaking them in... and now my foot doesn't even bother me... I am so thankful that my foot was starting to feel better. I didn't know what I would have done if I couldn't have run my race...
