Insanity Max: 30

Wow.. I love this program!! It is killer hard.... but love it... I am making improvement every day... I am almost done with month 1 and boy am I so scared for month 2!! It really is kicking my butt...but I am getting it done.... I have to say I love Shaun T and his workouts... it literally pushes me so hard... I haven't even made it 10 min. in any workout yet without maxing out first... but after I max out I keep at it as hard as I can... and with that I can see progress every time I work out.. .YAY!! Although I have been maxing out super early, I am still pushing hard after I take a rest or get a quick drink of water... I will be taking my 30 day pictures this coming Sunday...and quite possibly be posting them here... I am trying to stay updated..but have had a few issues with the kids that have to come first... crazy, crazy... but trying to get through it.. and I must say... after I get my workouts in I feel much better.... and on that note.. here are some pictures of me after my crazy workout... check back soon I am trying to keep you all updated!!

2015 Goals

I have always had little resolutions at the beginning of each year... but I never kept with them... so this year its going to be a little different...

I want to set goals for myself...  I have 2 goals in mind right now that I want to reach this year...

Reach my goal weight
(I would love to be 130, but I would
be happy with 140)

Run a Marathon
(Already registered... coming September 2015!)

I don't see a huge problem in completing both of these goals.. with my awesome support system and lots of different things to help me stay accountable, I can do anything I put my mind to...and you can to!!

New Year... New goals...

Ring in the New Year!! Happy 2015!!! Yay.. another year to continue to try and make myself better and healthier!!

For Christmas my hubby got me the new Beachbody program Insanity Max 30.. for those of you who don't know what that is... it's a new Insanity program just 30 min.. and it is designed to make you fail.

As soon as I saw the program was coming out, I HAD to have it..! It was another Insanity program... I was going to wait for the first Monday of January to start the workouts... which I did...

I am currently on week 2 of the program and oh boy... it is SOOO hard!! But so worth it... The first week I was completely sore everywhere... anytime I walked, climbed stairs, moved my arms, turned my head... I hurt... But, that is a good thing, it means things are changing, I worked hard...

It felt sooo good to sweat again... I love Shaun T's programs.. he makes you sweat like no other...! I have taken measurements and weighed myself as well.. so I can keep tabs on my progress.. I will will post them on here when I have some pictures to go along with it... heck, who knows maybe I will make you all wait till the very end of the program! I will load some pictures of me after my workouts and probably some of my maxout times... but as far as the progress pictures and measurements.. not sure how I want do do that yet...  anyway...

Here is to a New Year and a new me!!!

Foot issues

After my half marathon on Thanksgiving... my foot hurt really bad.. and thankfully my sister in laws father is a podiatrist and offered to take a look at my foot for me. Although I had previously seen a foot dr. they didn't have any idea what was wrong even after x-rays... no sign of stress fracture or anything... So I decided that I would have a go with my sister-in-laws dad...

He was awesome... he asked me questions... looked at my foot... looked at my shoes..... and told me what I needed to do....

Diagnosis: soft tissue injury...

He said I needed better shoes.... I usually run in Altras... which I have loved...but with my foot hurting I thought I needed different shoes.. so I got some really cheap Sacouny's from Famous Footwear... and they were not the shoes I needed...but like I said I was just trying something different to see if maybe it was for sure the shoe... even after I bought the shoes I still had issues and my foot hurt... The only time it didn't hurt is when it was wrapped with an ace bandage...except for race day when I really needed it to help...  anyway... He said I needed to take some anti-inflammatory to help relieve inflammation... and no running or any type of pressure that would hurt my foot more than it was already hurt... that meant no Insanity... (boo...)  but I took his advice and was going to apply it... so I could hopefully start feeling better...

I did the 3 weeks even better... I took the entire month of December off... with no exercise I was determined to give my foot the rest it needed... and yes.... totally fell off the band wagon with food... not so good in that department.... so far so good, no pain... and I have even started a new program... that post is coming next!!! Stay tuned!

Thankful 13

Like I have said many times... life has been crazy...but I am finally sitting down to look at what has been going on...  Last post I wrote, I was doing Insanity again... and then I got back to a little running...

On Thanksgiving Day I had my 2nd Half Marathon, and I was nervous... it was cold... I have never run in the cold... and the route was pretty flat... with a few hills... During my training for this I hadn't really done a whole lot... mostly treadmill runs, which if you follow me, you all know how much I HATE them.... but I just couldn't get out and do them on the pavement... I continued to have some foot issues, but I wrapped my foot and that mostly helped out a bit...  I never got to my long runs on Friday's so I was in for a real treat come race day!

And to top it off.. I came down with strep throat the week before my race.. literally, I went into insta-care the Thursday before my race... the dr. told me to go home and rest and I should be fine by race day... and when race day came... I felt much better... but was it...??

It was FREEZING Thanksgiving morning... My husband dropped me off and I had to find a running buddy that was kind enough to pick up my packet, since I didn't get to Utah till Wednesday night... (call me crazy, I know...)

Started off pretty well... and then I started to think, "What am I doing, I didn't even prepare well enough for this." I saw the 5k turn off and I wanted to just turn off there and go back... but I didn't... I continued on... slow.... awfully slow... it was miserable!!!  I ran a big chunk of the race, but then had to keep stopping.... and I ran most of the race by myself... I had a few friends along the way but they forged ahead... my foot was hurting, my whole body hurting.... I wanted to give up....

I think I walked the last 3 miles maybe... I was in so much pain... I kept trying to pushing myself to run, but I just didn't have the energy... I had lost so much in that small amount of time I stopped running... I found my friend Kristen, and she saved the day for me... she pushed me through those last 3 miles... she was also sick, and not feeling well... and at the very end we pushed each other to run to the finish line.... I finished at 3:05... Not too bad.. with all my setbacks... I wanted to do a better time than my first half marathon, but looking at all the facts it just wasn't in the cards for me to do better... I am grateful for completing another race... just more experience in the books...

I honestly have to say, if this had been my first race, I don't think I would have ever run again.... it was pretty bad!! After I just wanted to go home and take a shower.... but thankfully I had an amazing race in July... that will be unforgettable...!

Amazing ladies!! Love you guys!
